Résumé
Lisan al-din ibn al-khatib (713-776 1313-1374), who flourished under the nasride dynasty, is one of the most authentic and representative figures of the arabospanish culture. Owing to his multiple gifts and his admirable encyclopaedic knowledge, he is at the same time poet, prose writer, historian, doctor, mystic and author of many works dealing with different disciplins. The poetic work of ibn al-khatib is extraordinarily rich and varied as regards the styles he teckles as well as the themes he developes. It reflects the main literary trends of his time. However, it remains faithful to the essence of arab poetry. Born-poet and genuine artiste of the speech, the polygraph of granada is also considered as one of the greatest prose writers of the islamic spain. His prose is rhymed and rythmic with periods sometimes ample and majestic, and sometimes short and concise. As for the historical work of ibn al-khatib, it is presented under different forms : dynastic chronicles, monographies, anthologies, general histories and bio-bibliographical indexes. This work, because it enables us to know the nasride dynasty in particular and the islamic spain in general , is very important
